Working with students is one of the more rewarding aspects of a professor’s job. Having said that, it is time-consuming for both student and professor, requiring a great deal of responsibility on both parties. I supervise both graduate and undergraduate thesis students. My students say I’m “hard to impress.” They exaggerate. I’m just even-keeled and low on affect. Admittedly, I believe senior students are responsible for their own learning and development; should seek out answers for themselves; and manage their time effectively. But I do not expect them to be perfect. Failure now and again is to be expected. What impresses me is how a student responds to failure.
Graduate Supervision
Unfortunately, I am not accepting new graduate students for the Fall 2025 semester.
Undergraduate Supervision
If you’re in need of a thesis supervisor, you can find out more about my expectations here.
Student Research
Here is an overview of what my students claim they’re up to.
